Mellon Tuning 3582R .82 2.3 stroker 437awhp/398awtq 93 octane
Owner: Alan
Username: Ev0ikon
From: Odenville, AL
2003 EVO8 5-speed
PTE 1000cc injectors
93 octane
28 psi
tbe 02 header
BR deluxe fmic
HKS 272 cams
BR 3582R .82 turbo kit
This was a tricky one to tune...I suspect the ECU+ wasn't disabled and doing some correction and we couldn't get my laptop to talk to it to verify. The injector scale was a bit odd, but I worked it out to where it idle/cruise/wot worked perfectly after spending quite a bit of time on it.
The transmission has a mix EVO 7 gears so it threw off DLL, it should be a solid 500awhp, it sure feels like it...it just rips through the gears like nothing else. Alan isn't interested in really high RPM so we cut our runs short, you can see the power was till climbing like a rocket

Woah, congrats Alan! Looks like there's definitely more in it. What matters is that you're happy. Props once again to Mellon, great work my friend.

Looks like the cat is out of the metaphorical bag, so to speak. Good numbers bud. I'm calling "shotgun" for the next few weekends.

When you go from the 2.0l to the 2.3l most ppl have issues with shorter revs. What can you do to counter this or is it just something you have to live with? I cant imagine that revs would hurt ya that much unless you go to the drag strip every other weekend?

I think it's something you get used to. I could shift quick enough that the RPM doesn't drop that much.

The added tq must be nice. If I did the 2.3l I would go with the HTA 37R. I dont track my car a lot. Its not a daily driver either but its a weather permitting daily driver I guess? Idk if im bored and its nice out and I have some place to go or the guys wanna cruise thats when I drive it. Its just a toy.
I cant decide haha.

I think the ultimate street setup would be a 2.3 + Red on e85 or a HTA 3582 .63 to keep that spool nice and quick.

I have a 35R on right now but was thinking of doing 2.3l and keeping that or eventually going to a 37R.
