470whp TTP Tuned NEW EvoRed 80mm cover results inside!

Carlos is no stranger to TTP. We have been working with him for the past few years. Upgrading, maintaining, tuning his 2006 Evo IX MR. His graphite MR has been tearing up the streets of Tampa, FL for quite some time.

This time around he came to us with a different setup to have tuned. Carlos was one of the first to receive the new FPRed with 80mm compressor cover. Some of the other notable changes he made to his setup was the addition of a custom fabricated exhaust manifold of the twinscroll variety. The workmanship appeared to be of good quality. Upon drilling and tapping the exhaust manifold, the runner walls were nice and thick, a good indicator of strength. Carlos also added a SzabaFab non-cdi coil on plug ignition system which was of very high quality. In the process of getting the car ready for the tuning, we added PTE 1250cc injectors and Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator on a Perrin fuel rail.

Carlos wanted two maps designed for his car. The first was a pumpgas 93 map designed for everyday use. The second map he wanted for high boost and racefuel to terrorize the streets with. We first started with the 93 mapping on 1250cc PTE injectors which we dialed in quickly.
Here are the results for pumpgas 93:

After the pumpgas 93 tune, we added 5gal of Sunoco 116 and turned the wick up on the boost controller. Forge UNOS light spring was maxed shortly thereafter. Carlos did not want to exceed 35psi peak and the light spring in the Forge UNOS maxed out at about 34psi so we gave him the option to keep it the way it was or to move up to the heavy spring. Carlos opted to keep the car where it was at so he could enjoy a reliable 470whp.
Here are the numbers for the Sunoco 116:

And the overlay graph of 27psi on 93 to 34psi on 116 is here:

Great numbers! Is that the Injen intake I see with the new compressor housing? Just a different coupler?

We will be testing another 80mm cover this week so we should be able to have enough test subjects available to form a conclusive opinion on the new Red. At this point in time we are still testing them.
