New Dyno Flash record on Stock Turbo 465TQ 453 WHP !
Today was an exciting project on the dyno that was a lot of fun to tune
The car was a Evo IX with the following modifications
Built 2.3 L bottom end
Kelford Cams
Custom fmic pipes and exhuast
Perrin Fmic
Walbro Pump
1,000 injectors
AEM Alcohol injection system
AEM EMS tuned by Dyno Flash
Stock BOV
Really nicely wrenched car - well sorted and clean
The car was achiving a peak boost of 34 spike tapering to 22 psi at 7.000
This was done on 93 octane pump gas with one jet on the aem alchy injection
I will have a video up soon
This is the most power ever made on a stock Evo turbo at Dyno Flash - and the car felt like a ****ing green for sure om the test drive it was strong

FooKing nice tune resulting in spazzed torque numbers. Great job. Al! Why do the IX turbos always taper so badly though?

I should add that I modfied the stock wga rod by adding a few more turns on the arm and we also crushed the stock bov
The car really impressed me - a very strong street combo

That's good to hear cause I'm installing a 2.3rr motor in my car but I can't afford the turbo kit right away. So I'm hoping I won't have no problems running on the stock turbo for now.

I miss my 2.3 20g setup on my evo 1. That setup was the most fun I have had in a 4g63 to date. But poor tranny only lasted 9 months. Decided to downsize back to 2.0 to reduce torque.
never under estimate the fun of a fast spooling hard hitting power band. just a joy to drive

This is why my car is going back to the stock turbo. It's so much more fun to drive!!
You miss alot of what makes an evo, when you go with a big turbo IMO. Lag is not overrated in a street car.

why so little mods? i say why add any more? lol that thing is making some sweet numbers as is. about the only other mod i would personally add (that is if its not already done and al forgot to list it) would be the P/P stock exhaust manifold....and maybe the 02 dump.

Nice numbers but still plenty of options with a 2.3L. I think I want to go with a 2.3L when I choose to build. I think if he got a red and 4.11 or lower gear ratio that thing would be a great street set-up not that it isn't now.
