I placed a video on the car on my You Tube channel for those interested

http://www.youtube.com/user/Dynoflash

Interstingly, this is the 4th 2.3L stroker car we have seen with Exedy Twin Disk HD that popped off the tob clip as soon as the car was shifted quickly. The 2.3L seems to increase harmonics which lead to clip poppping. The push conversion by AMS is a good choice IMHO for these cars

You miss alot of what makes an evo, when you go with a big turbo IMO. Lag is not overrated in a street car.
This statement should be lined in gold. But the sad truth is most just dont get it. I try to explain to people all the time why I would sell my 600hp car before my 400hp car. I drive the 400hp car 50 times before driving the 600hp car once. subject for another thread.

Out of the many hundreds and hundreds of cars I have tuned the only 4 that have actually popped off a clip while in my hands were with a 2.3L engine. Also my own personal Dyno Flash EVo 8 used to have clip problems when it was a 2.0L. I am just throwing it out there for informational purposes to see if anyone else sees a pattern or if its just coincidence.

The car was in my hands again today after the clip was replaced this am and I was driving it some more. One significant draw back of the AEM meth system seems to be the apparent lack of a cut off solinoid similar to the Aquamist which locks the alcohol line while the pump is not active to prevent the dripping of alcohol into the fmic pipe after you lift the gas.

After driving it again today in day light conditions, I was once again very impressed with the power and speed of the car with the stock turbo. Its certainly an amazing combination for a near totally lag free instant boost car.

I do have concerns of the long term reliability of this turbo at these power levels. I intend to follow up with the customer over time to see how well it fair. I fear the turbo perhaps may be over spinning and may start to fall apart - we'll see.

In any event it does make for a nice combination for around town and auto cross.

BTW - I am remiss in not mentioning it sooner - props to Precision PSI in MD for the very well executed build on this car and also for working overtime to replace the failed tob clip. I highly recommend this faciility to customers in the MD area.
