Alpine iDA-X300

hi.. i donīt know if this forums is for this... but i have a question... i have this head unit (Alpine iDA-X300), and i have a problem with the USB.... already searched in google with no results...

when i add new folders to the USB the stereo wonīt recognise the new folders unless i disconnect the battery to reset the stereo... and then the stereo search for new folders again...

i read the manual and i cant find how to reset the BANK again...

maybe this is not the correct place for this, but i hope you can help me...

So you disconnect the usb, add folders/songs, reconnect the usb and it won't recognize it until you reset the headunit?

Call Alpine and see what they suggest it might be a bad headunit.I have the X305 I think it is but might be the 300 as well and I dont have issues with it.

Hmmm.... that's strange. When you reconnect the usb does it say that it's searching for a few seconds before listing all folders/songs?

It should just pop up... try Alpine support... I haven't seen that issue before and I've installed a lot of these headunits.

Try changing the source to anything other than usb before you disconnect it... the problem may be that if you are unplugging the usb while it is still reading/playing it may be doing something to the headunit.

If you switch source to tuner and then disconnect the usb and then plug the usb back in... does it make a difference?

What USB device do you use?

i have iDA-X001 and using USB hdd with it without any problems.

As i've read on the audio forums, there can be some issues with X-series while USB drives, and it depends on HDD manufacturer and model, some of them simply doesn't work with headunit, some of them working with errors and problems.

As tip: i'm using WD 160gb 2,5" external drive, it's going for something like 50$ in stores. No problems with adding folders, files, playback e.t.c.
