I did. It didn't turn out very good so I didn't keep it. But here's a picture of what it looked like.

Because you can't use the trunk without the worry of things damaging the speaker by landing on it - my guess.

Either that or there wasn't enough airspace for the sub. Maybe..

I know the nissan murano's have a sub in the back of the car made by bose that actually uses the screw hold-down for the spare tire to hold itself in place. I'm not sure if one of these would fit or not, but it might be worth while looking into if you want to keep the spare tire. Not sure also if you wanted something a little bit better than stock either, but just a suggestion.

Your best bet would be to just get a custom fiberglass box with a port. If you use the spare tire space, the sub will not hit as hard because it's enclosed and the air space is smaller.

If you're building a custom fiberglass box you can build it as big or small as the specifications of the sub(s). I've done many setups like this and it sounds great... just like it should. If the box is too big or too small that will make or break the system... but if it is built to the correct dimensions of the sub then it is just as good as having a square mdf box but much lighter.

Here's some examples: www.creative-ego.ca

Most of the installs are a little crazy and showcars but you get the idea... if you check out the step-by-step pics I have for the Integra, Acura 3.2 and some others you get the idea of how to build the box and false floor.

Hope this helps,

Nick
