Stock SSL Sub In Non SSL Evo?

i did a quick search but couldn't really find much besides replacing the stock sub with an aftermarket one. if i missed a thread feel free to post a link. anyway, i was just wondering if the stock SSL sub will work on a non SSL Evo. my general manager is pretty much giving one to me, but i have an MR SE and im not sure if the wiring harness is the same for the SSL Evos. i used to have two kenwood 12" subs, a Kenwood 1800w amp, and a Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Digital Cap with a custom box, but it was just too much for me. i wanted to tone it down a little. if anything i'm probably just gonna replace the factory sub with a shallow mount and run an aftermarket amp.

Worked fine for me. I took the factory SSL Sub and wired it to my Sony amp. I put a shallow 8" KICKER sub in replace of the factory infinity, and it sounds GREAT. 6 months and counting. I can post some pics if you'd like.

I used the stock brackets that came with the sub to mount it.

Sub is an 8" Kicker CompVT Shallow Mount Sub:

The amp is an old Sony 480 watt / 2 channel amp, and just wired it to the sub. I mounted it under the passenger seat. Plenty of Clearance under the seat.

Hope that helps. If you have any other ?s just hit me up!

I tried to make that work and it was a complete waste of time. That little 8" sub is barely audible thru the back seat. Plus it's a tiny, shallow box. You'd be better off throwing an amp on the 2 rear deck speakers. My .02
