Two Batteries?
Has anyone ever installed a small battery in place of the stock battery under the hood, and had that only be used for everything but the sound system, then installed another full size battery in the trunk for only the sound system? Just curious if it's been done, mostly.

If you plan the system well, you won't need another battery and its added weight.

^well a small battery is only 20 pounds, so It'd only be a battery relocation to the trunk, so it'd still be less weight up front and better overall weight distribution. I want to do this because I want to run my sound system for long periods of time and not have to worry about running out of battery to start my car. Will this be easy to wire up?

to be clear you run your car audio with the car not running?
if so you need a battery isolator.

some safety info
If the battery is inside the passenger (in a hatchback vehicle or in a car with a back seat that folds down), you must use a sealed battery (i.e. Optima). If the battery is being used in the trunk of a vehicle you can use a standard battery but you will need put the battery in a battery box and you will need to provide proper ventillation. Proper ventillation would mean forced air (fan) ventilation from the battery box to the outside of the vehicle. When a standard lead acid battery charges, it produces flammable gases which must be removed from the vehicle to prevent a fire/explosion hazard.
