Need an alarm...

Somebody just hit and ran on my car and now I realize it's time for an alarm. Here is what I'm looking for, in descending order of importance:

Sensitive shock sensor (maybe one that I can adjust sensitivity on)
Long range
Easy to install myself (not looking to splice that many wires, would like P&P if possible)
Keyfob functions - must have keyless entry controls and a status indicator on it. I want the keyfob to let me know if the alarm is going off. Don't care if color display or not.
Rechargable keyfob
Solid warranty
No more than $200
I would like the car to chirp twice to let me know I've locked it.
Don't want an antenna sticking out of my car.
If possible, I'd like the keyfob not to have an external antenna.
Only need 1 keyfob.

Through looking, it seems like the Viper 1090 R/B seems pretty close to what I want, other than it has a ton of features I wouldn't hook up such as remote start and turbo timer, unsure of range, and the keyfob has an external antenna.

Does anybody have other suggestions?

seems like you have to get a viper one search it on ebay but Im not sure if you can install it yourself so just search it online.

You may have troubles finding an aftermarket unit that is "easy to install" or "plug and play" and with all the features you want and under $200.

If you want my honest opinion. Pick a good alarm that does what you want and get a trusted, preferred professional to install it. Installing an alarm does take some skill and splicing into the factory wiring.

Majority of the DEI lineup of products will do what you want (Viper, Clifford, Python, etc). Price will vary depending on the unit... if you want an alarm only... get an alarm only... that will keep cost down. You can get a two way paging alarm only with keyless entry features, trunk release and I think a number of extra channels to do other things. They boast 1 mile range, very durable remotes on the new design units and the led and programming/valet switch is located in the antenna now so no drilling holes in your dash to mount an led.

The Viper 5701 if you can install your self is a good unit. You can find it on ebay cheap also.

Anyone can install it themselves. If you've never done it before, prepare for a full day of installing. Possibly a day more to configure it to how you want it.

Then after that, let's compare photo's of your install to a professional install. Placement of components is vital to making a clean install. The brain should not be visible under the dash.

I totally agree. Evos/Lancers are also very basic electrically, so it's a great car for a first timer to install an alarm on. Most professional shops will just throw the brain somewhere convenient in the dash, unless a spot is specifically requested and they won't go to great lengths to hide the wiring. Doing it yourself, you can put it where ever your heart desires and spend the time to hide the wiring. You have all the time in the world, where a shop wants you in and out as quick as possible to maximize the money they bring in for the day.
