installed subs blew fuse

Just installed a HU,Sub,Amp, and capacitor. Connected everything, put positive amp cable on the 60 amp side of the positive terminal and blew the 60 amp side fuse. Theres 1 item connected to the car from the 60 amp side. What is it? And then installed it to the 100 amp side and blew the 80 amp fuse to the amp kit. Could it be a bad ground in the trunk? I own an 05 evo 8 thanks in advance.

I am having a hard time understanding what you are describing. You are asking "what is it" making it sound like you have the amp spliced into another device sharing the fuse. That's a bad idea. The amp needs its own dedicated power line with fuse. You run a main system line to the trunk, have a fuse near the battery, and then the amp has its own fuse.

yeah got it that way just have a capacitor on it also. Fixed it. works great. Just wandering still whats on the 60 amp side of the battery terminal. I drove it and all 3 lights went on for the acd. Does anyone think its that? thanks

Here's my guess with out actually being able to look at my car right now. It probably goes out to one of the fuse boxes, either the one under the hood, or the one inside the dash. I wouldn't drive the car without that fuse. If anything, just stick a piece of wire in there to power everything until you can get to a parts store and get a new fuse.

If the fuses blew upon you hooking up your power wire, it would have been due to the capacitor charging (drawing a sh*tload of current). There's supposed to be a resistor, lightbulb, or something else that you use to charge it to prevent fuse blowing.

actually it was the power wire on the capacitor hitting the negative terminal somehow it rotated but i tightened it up and alls good.
