Here's my guess with out actually being able to look at my car right now. It probably goes out to one of the fuse boxes, either the one under the hood, or the one inside the dash. I wouldn't drive the car without that fuse. If anything, just stick a piece of wire in there to power everything until you can get to a parts store and get a new fuse.
If the fuses blew upon you hooking up your power wire, it would have been due to the capacitor charging (drawing a sh*tload of current). There's supposed to be a resistor, lightbulb, or something else that you use to charge it to prevent fuse blowing.
