Flip out Head unit w/ ecu tuning capabilities?

is there a way to hav an ecu tuning set-up that runs through a touch screen flip out monitor in the dash?

none right now. most ecu tuning is either done by software designed fora pc. or some sort of stand alone device

options for you may include the evoscan standalone navigation unit. or possibly using a winxp netbook plus evoscan software and plug it into the flip screen of your choice.

Well, its actually entirely possible as long as you also have a PC that can interface with any of the flip out screens. Frankly, I think its much easier/better/cleaner to just carry a laptop when you need to (or get the evoscan standalone GPS based unit)

Actually, and this may just be theory, u just might be able to run a carpc, running radio functions and tuning software. For a connection, just run your cable under the dash so no one would ever have to know

There's a big thread somewhere about running a car pc. It also details the installation.

I use a carPC with a double din screen. works great!

however your question was if you can use tuning software with a flip out head unit... with today's current headunits there is no support a digital connection to a PC. At the very best all you can do is have RCA input which is not clear enough, nor does it give you touchscreen support over the PC's operating system.

If you are intent on using a flip out screen, there are single din flip-out touchscreen monitors you could interface with a carpc. most of us put the carpc's under the seat and run cables up the dash. However by doing this the PC soley controls audio/video/gps/etc...

see the link in my signature fore pics of my setup.
