i recently took my evo x to get a remote starter installed and the shop is having a problem getting it to work. it will only work with the ignition in the accessory position.i have the fast key option. does anybody know what the accessory position powers up? or what it does? i need to know this before install is complete. please help!

Um, it won't work because it needs a bypass for the car to turn over...if you have that, then they didn't hook it up properly. If it cranks but doesn't turn over, could be not sensing chip...there are ton's of reasons why it's not working. Ask for a refund and take it somewhere else.

You're probably going to have to hide an extra key somewhere in the car so that the stock imobilizer/Fast key system thinks your in the car and allows it to crank.

it is a compustar remote start and a can-sl2 bus interface. they did hide a key in the car. the starter would work fine as long as the ignition was in the accessory position. if it was in the off position the car would not start.

Does the car crank at all when you remote start it?

yes, it actually starts when the ignition is in the accessory position. when it is in the full off position it does nothing.
