SRS light comes on after alarm install...

I need some help here, I recently got a hornet alarm system put on my car, alarm works fine and everything but since then the SRS light has come on. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes but it didnt come off. I got the installer to over look his work to see if he left off something but all looks well.
Is there something that needs to be reset or done?

SRS light will not come off without an SRS scanner. Nothing you can do will make it dissapear otherwise. If you know a bodyshop they may have one. Otherwise you may need to go to the dealership. An alarm should not have caused the SRS to go off unless one of the SRS plugs were removed and put back while the alarm was installed or an in incorrect wire may have been cut.

I would go to another shop and have them check it out. As said above there's no reason SRS should have come on for an alarm install.

Hopefully, they just unplugged something by mistake while they were installing the alarm, plugged it back in, and it just needs to be reset.

thanks for the help guys, turns out the installer did unplug one of the srs plugs which brought up the light...I got a shop to do a diagnostics test and just reset the codes...all is well now.

Good. Nothing like an airbag going off in your face.

how much did they charge you to reset the code?

If only this could be done through a tactrix cable and some pretty fancy software.

I was fretting the airbag was going to fly and slap me in the face everytime I drove it...
Fortunately I knew the people at the shop I went to so they didn't charge me
