Simple Carputer install.

Took out the stock clock and used the stock bracket to mount it to the dash. Ran the cables in the hole and mad a rubber rear piece to keep it in place.

I ran the cables down the center console to under the drivers side seat where a laptop resides. All I use it for is EvoScan (as you can see in the pic) and don't use it for music as much anymore since I have an iPhone now, but figured I would post pics incase anyone was thinking about mounting it there.

If anyone is interested I can post pics of all of the stuff.

Peace!

Looks good. The only thing that sucks is that it has to stay out all the time...right? You can't just retract the screen when you park or anything like that.

Nice setup, but like the above poster said. Is there a way to remove or hide the screen? Where I live something like that would be asking for trouble.

No, yeah I thought I would be asking for trouble but I've had it installed for 7 months now and haven't had an issue yet (knock on wood) and I live in Dallas, Texas.

I was wanting to make a Carputer but for my MR2, and possibly using a mac instead of pc. I am planning on using some aftermarket EMS Like the one from AEM or more likely The Nemesis 2 fromm Hydra. And I'll use the aftermarket ECU for the real time data display and the carputer can be and on board tuning tool. But all thats still in dev in my mind, I might be constrained to using a pc though. The idea behind using a mac was that you can buy a very compact computer and they boot quickly. But a PC will do If I have to use one. Anyway where I am stuck now is the screen, I can't locate a LCD monitor that would fit in my Double din location and connect to the computer probaly through VGA. All of them have a RCA connecting with the one yellow wire for video. the quality will be so poor, but maybe on such a small screen it won't matter. So Can have more details on you set up. Pictures really help too Thanks. It seems pretty well put together.
