Help me find a deck please :)

I need a deck for my evo... I currently have a kenwood dvd touch screen thing but can't figure out how to use it so am going to try something else!

I need something that I can hook my iPod into and can control my sub and amp and preferably something that is attractive looking and EASY to use!
It needs to be a single din too

Thanks

Single din screen like Kenwood? or just any ol' deck that is single din?

I love the ipod control on the Alpine units. http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...?category=IPOD

I have the iDA-X001 in my car right now, its awesome. Drawback is no cd playing, but who cares. They also make Cd decks that control the ipod but the screens aren't as nice. Otherwise for a full touch screen the 105 is your best bet.

http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=CDA-9887 That's the top line one...

These are the whole line, if it works right, if it doesn't than all the CDA models can control the ipod:

Yeah, apparently I'm just a little slower to post

So basically, stick to Alpine for iPod control. If you can afford the 9887, great, but the other models are prety good too. The 9885 was what the car audio place recommended to me if I wanted CD playback, and the 9886 is the same price and newer/better.

I'm tellin ya the iDA series is awesome, the display is sooo nice, if you HAVE to have cds you can get a cd changer installed.

<-- not a fan of alpine
if you want bluetooth and ipod DEFINATELY NOT ALPINE
ipod speeds are ok but the interface and facelayout SUCK (why are there THREE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS FOR SOUND ADJUSTMENT??!!)
pioneer decks have everything you need and if you get the premier u get a 3 year warranty.

Alpines are fine, but there are so many alternatives out there. I would suggest doing some research on site like Crutchfield. You can narrow your search down and do comparisons as well.

Wow, its been awhile since I've looked, Pioneers do look a lot better now (last I looked at them was 3 years ago with the Evo, and they were junk in the ipod department). Same with Eclipse. I guess the only thing left for me would be to test the speed/ease of controlling my ipod. And the display.

And jeez, the Pioneers have BT built in (for about half the same price it costs to add to an Alpine), that is pretty cool... If I hadn't just bought this one I'd probably take a look at the Pioneers.
