dnx7100 and ipod help..
quick question for you guys running this set up.. i have the ipod classic hooked up to my kenwood and it only works sometimes (load error, freezes up the menus, etc) the software i have is V1.1.1 but there isnt any updates available.
i know the the deck says i need v 1.2.1 or newer but that update isnt available for this ipod.. anyone have any clues on what the fix is for this?

You have no options. My gen5 Ipod has 1.2.1 and it freezes on my ddx8019 once every 3 weeks. So don't think it won't ever freeze once the update becomes available for you. I'm surprised they gave you 1.1.1 on the classic because I have had 1.2.1 for well over a year and a half now.
Just to be clear, we are talking about the new classic 80 or 160 gig ipod right?

ya its the classic 80 gig. from what i got from the apple website there isnt any updated software yet since its so new. the older ipods have more updates hence the 1.2.1 and up versions. looks like im screwed til some updates come out.

I don't have an iPod or anything "i" I remember some people saying they had the same issue. Here's what I found:
"Firmware upgrade for the 2007 CD/USB receivers and USB Multimedia receivers for new iPod (iPod nano 3rd Generation, iPod classic, iPod touch) compatibility"
http://www.kenwood.com/usb/info_program_en.html

This happens on my clarion every 2 weeks or so. Have to disconnect the ipod and do a reset on the ipod then hook it back up and it works again for another 2 weeks. Mabye I should check into updating those.
