Help with Avic-N3 now :)
Just bought an AVIC-N3 and im a bit fuzzy on a couple things.
1) I have a 5th generation 30g ipod video, what do I need to use it with the N3?
2) I understand you cannot play Ipod videos on the N3, is there any trick to enable this?
Thanks in advance!

Hey quick Q for you coolguy, I want to buy one too, did you need anything special, like an evo specific harness or something? I'm looking at getting the ones on ebay. I just want to know what I need to install it because I'm pretty much going in blind. Thanks

have you tried this forum? i got an n3 ac ouple of months back and this helped me hack it! Hope this helps!
might be a ghetto setup but i just used av cables to get my ipod to work. havent tried the video part. i know that there is a cable that you can get at best buy or one of those type places that you plug into the brain to get the ipod to work and charge. just never got around to getting one. av cables have been fine so far.

Ok, I found out what I needed. Easy set-up in car, done by friend in 10 minutes...
Bought one of these off Ebay new was $20 bucks http://www.mobilewhack.com/reviews/x..._av_cable.html
Ok, so this basically allows me to play audio/video+charge Ipod through my avic-n3 HOWEVER, it does not allow me to use the touch screen to control ipod. Bad? not really.... the alternative is the pioneer set-up, which is X3 more expensive, only allows you to play ipod audio does not allow you to charge ipod, does allow the touch screen ipod control HOWEVER(again) the controls will literally take you 10 minutes to navigate through an IPOD= very very slow... if you control it through the Ipod with cables shown above, it is normal speed!!
GL EVERYONE!

You should have bought the pioneer ipod cable. Its a much better investment. i have one hooked up to my avic n2, and no it doesnt take 10 minutes to navigate through your songs..ever heard of a playlist?

Just put the N4 in my car bout two days ago. I'm just using the pioneer CD-IB100. I'm sure I have an older version video iPod though. Like EVO8GSR said, avic411.com is an awesome website.
