The Beginning of my Custom Stereo Install

Hey guys...I decided I'd start a thread and show the progress of my stereo install in my Evo I seeing it's part of what I do for a living for the past 12 years now. I started on the sub box last week and spent a total of 6 hours on it between dry time etc and I have the box finished. The wood you see around the box will be the support for the trim panel. The trim panel will butt up to that wood and all you will see of the sub box is the vinyl face. The trunk will be all grey and black (like the interior) with the face of the box and amp rack grey and the rest black. I hope to get to the rest of it done next week between jobs to show you guys a finished product, but we'll see how it goes. I just threw the box in the car to see what the subs sounded like, but If you look closely in the back of the box, you can see the 2 Orion amps I will be using. I decided to use the older series amps for the chrome look as well as the matching grey end caps. We are also the authorized dealers for Directed Electronics here in the Bahamas which is why I went with the Orions which is one of their lines now. I'll add more pics when I get more into it

Here is a little more progress. Got the box bolted in the trunk, got the trim work done around the speaker box and the new amp rack in. Just have to make the new side panels for the trunk and a few other little things. Total time I spent on the trunk was about 2 working days. Still wish I didn't rush it because I would have done some things differently, but that's how it is with anything I do for myself. Time is always limited...

Thanks and nope!! I took that out a long time ago! The island I live on is only 21 miles by 7 so you're never far from home if you get a flat

BTW, I hope to do a bit more in the trunk soon. I've been enjoying my time off while on vacation, but head back to work Monday

Looks real nice! Still left with some trunk space in case you ever need it.
