Lower DIN mounting with Orbital kit, help

OK, I just got my Orbital kit, and I have had my dash apart in the past, so I am working from memory here, but..

I don't seem to remember the HVAC controls mounting to a DIN type bracket. As I am using an upper DIN and lower DIN components, how am I to mount the lower DIN component properly?

Do I need to fabricate a bracket?

For what it's worth, My Top component will be an Alipine single DIN center channel speaker, and my lower is my Kenwood XXV-O5V.

Thanks

The two ears (or brackets) that are mounted to the side of the stock radio...yeah, those. They supposedly will line up with the mounting holes that the climate controls mounted to.

I am looking to do similar. I am modding a Gruppe-S gauge panel to hold the radio where the climate controls were with three 60mm gauges above. When I looked in to doing it with a panel already made for this (by Colt Speed, JDM expensive stuff...) I was informed that the stock radio bnrackets held the radio in the correct position.

You may have to make your own brackets to get an aftermarket head unit to fit correctly (flush-wise).

Let us know how it goes.

Will do. I am in AZ right now, once I get back to FL, I will be painting the orbital pieces in the factory Graphite Grey (along with the center console). Once the paint work is done, I will be working on mounting everything

GG is the color of the car, not the dash trim.

However if I wanted to match the stock pieces, I could just take the parts to my paint store, and tell them to color match it. Scottsdale Auto Body and Paint in Scottsdale, AZ is a great pro paint store specializing in PPG paints. I picked up two rattle cans loaded with Graphite Grey, along with plastic adhesion promoter and a laquer clear.
