Can I use my jensen touchscreen system to control a CARPC?
ok i wanna build an ultra small form factor pc for the evo.. i'd really like to use my existing all in one unit to control everything from an "auxilary" channel.. the unit is a Jensen VM9412 touchscreen all in one etc. can i do it?

Do you have the driver for the screen to work with Windows?

The simple answer is no, not possible. Not with your Jensen at least.
One option would be to sell the JTS, and put the money towards a touchscreen/pc setup.

i believe that model has a video input, it is going to be RCA. Please do not take this the wrong way, but jensen is one of the worst products out there in terms of quality and noise. They use nothing but cheap parts. I hope to god you have an extended warranty on it.
More food for thought, 2006 Lancer evolution, $36k...and a cheap ass stereo...not a good mix. Surely you can do better

All Jensen TS units have AUX Video input. I have owned (2) styles of the Jensen. I owned the double din version and the single din version, both being motorized. The quality output on the unit using the standard speaker terminals was not too great, but still good enough. However wired up to an amp, both performed extremely well with decent quality. The simple fact is, for the features and price, you cannot beat the Jensen indash units. Are there better out there? Sure, but none that can fit just about anyones budget. Not to mention some people feel that paying $1000+ for a good unit would be a high risk. The expensive unit can be stolen just the same as the cheaper unit. Personally I would rather lose a $300 investment over a $1000 investment.

I was not intentionally bad mouthing a product like jensen. I understand that not everyone wants to put alot of money into a stereo, i just find it ironic that we pay such high dollar for our cars and not put the best stuff in them. To each his own, i prefer eclipse and alpine.
Only thing i don't like about jensen is, their screens don't use all metal parts, usually only have a mono sub output and their units are .25" to .50" larger than most units.
Like i said, to each his own, for the money you can't beat them. I agree. Good luck! And, i forgot that some of the jensen come with the media module, not all but 90% of them do.
