Do alarms sense slashed tires?
About 10 cars in my neighborhood got a tire slashed. I'm was getting a Viper soon, but this has pushed me to DEFCON 1. I'm guessing this would fall under a sensitivity(?) feature of alarms? The one I have my eyes on is the Viper 5002.

a good after market alarm has a proximity sensor. And then you also have touch sensors...

A tilt sensor theoretically might be able to detect the change in inclination from a flat. I found the DEI module that was sold a few years back however was pure crap. Numerous false alarms constantly and I could actually jack the car off the ground just slightly enough to get a tire off. So unless you know otherwise I'd make sure you test it out or ask them if they'll refund your money should this still be the case. DEI makes Viper alarms.

I had a Viper 791xv or whatever in my last car, so that's kinda why I wanted another Viper. I just know nothing about these tilt and touch sensor things.

Oh yeah, my last car I could sit on it, and push it up and down to make it bounce and it wouldn't go off. I was under the impression that all alarms would detect that, but I guess not. Or maybe Tweeter didn't turn the sensitivity up. That's what I also want in my next alarm.

I noticed on my alarm I can rock my car quite a bit but it doesnt detect that. My shock sensor does detect actual hits on the car but not rocking.

D.E.I. has a new digital tilt sensor that is alright iam not sure if it would pick up the tire being slashed because its a low profile. The shock sensor might pick it up if its really sensitive. Thats why some of you can bounce up and down on your cars. It also depends where you mount the sensor. There is also a sensor call a microwave sensor (proximity sensor) these work alright but are really hard to get tuned it right to not false and those are used more if you leave your windows down and someone sticks there hand in, or in a convertible. Viper makes a good unit and there are some others out there that are the same if not better.

Viper, Python, Clifford, Avital, and many more fall under the DEI umbrella. All pretty good products. I would go with the prox. sensor if you are trying to detect someone messing with your tires. You could turn the sensativity of the first field to extend about 1-2ft past your door.
