For those with subwoofers, How do you deal with this.
My stock evo stereo system didn't do it for me so I switch out to an aftermarket stereo system with a new subwoofer but I am just tired of hearing things loosen up or rattling loose from the bass vibrating the bolts in my trunk and I always hear a squeaking noise evertime the bass hits from the back of my car. I tried tightning all the bolts I can see but i can't seem to find where the squeaking noise is comming from. Is anyone else having thier trunk area getting loose and things rattling all the time? how do you deal with this and whats the best way you can find loost bolts that makes the noise. I want to find it and put lock tight on the bolts that make the noise, but I just don't want to start taking apart my whole trunk and applying lock tight to ever bolt in the trunk. That is just to time comsuming and tedious work. How do you guys deal with this or maybe it's just my evo that my trunk area gets loose.

I think lock tight is cheaper than dynamat... My sub sounds good, it's just making nuts and bolts in my car comming loose. I don't think I need to dynamat my whole car, bolts are going to get loose anyways, even with dynamat.

Thats why I bought an JL 8w7. Big sound without the rattling. Clean tight bass without my trunk or car loosening up. And with some damn good components up front, its perfect. Dont want your car to rattle, stay away from big subs.

well i think it depends on how much power you have on the subs... if they are 2 12"s and you only hitting them with 150rms and 300peak, then it wont be as power full as 2 10"s w/ 600rms and 1200peak... i belive it also depends on the box you have

I have a JL 10 w7 and I don't think it's that big of a sub.. Bass will still rattle things if it's clean too.

Wrong!! Get a very efficient 150 watt sub (8, 10, 12, 13, 15,) and design a correct enclosure for it to reproduce the sound you are looking for and you can have that badboy sounding like a train, thunder, or pure bliss. I dont care how much power you put back there, Big bass will loosen your car up if you dont take necessary precautions. And even if you do, It'll probably still loosen door and interior panels. Word!!

If you didnt build your enclosure the way I did, then your comment doesnt apply to me. W7's can cause issues for any car. My little 8 wont cause any for me. And with the right enclosure, your 10w7 would fool you into thinking it was a huge sub. I dont disagree that clean bass will still rattle things but my bass is not going to rip my car appart.

He's right ^^^ most of your rattles come from the rear deck. I removed the grills and jacked up the volume to find a serious need for some padding back there. insert a few foam shims in the right places, and no more rattles. Sub control --- fire at will!

The shipping weight on 20 square feet of dynamat is 14 pounds, so, installed, you're probably only looking at adding 12 pounds at most. Not really going to make a difference.
