What model of compustar? CompuStar alarms have alot longer distance than that viper you had, I had the same viper alarm, only bad thing was the distance. You will be alot happier with your CompuStar

its one with autostart, not sure about the model exactly but the installer recommended that he upgraded my alarm due to the fact I had some nss problems so he'd do it at no extra costs, just wanted me to be happy I guess lol.

Awesome I guarantee that you will like the CompuStar better than your Viper. You will notice alot more distance range than the Viper. Let me know how you like it

a very nice alarm with remote start and built in turbo timer specially made for manual transmission. I have 2WS900FMR which works great and with good range. the pro-series is even better.

mine resets all the time, the remote paging system goes off all the time, ive gone through my second remote cause the plastic keeps breaking off in the same spot. When it gets cold out (buffalo weather) the hood sensor fails and thinks the hood is open which in turn; if the cars already locked, the alarm goes off in the middle of the night. If its not locked it wont lock once the hood sensor detects the hood is open.
Overall tho...... great product.
All my friends have them on there Sti's and they complain about the same problems

I just got the Compustar P2W9000FMR and have no problems with it except the remote that shows that the door is still open when I arm the car (The doors are locked, Just something that has to do with our delay in our dome lights.) I've had my alarm for a week and couldn't be happier with it. I kind of wished I got the higher model with remote start and turbo timer. Hood pin and everything else works fine for me.

I have a Compustar alarm on my galant. Best one I've ever had. I've had problems with Viper, Clifford and another one I can't remember right now. The pager is a great option for when the car is not within your eye site. The "turbo timer" function is also great since you don't have to spend extra money for an actual turbo timer.
Remote start works great and has one of the best safety features out there so you cant start the car while its in gear.

I love my compustar!
But I dropped the remote and now it's cracked Do you think a new one would be covered under warranty or am I screwed?

Your screwed unless whoever installed it is cool and will waranty it to keep you happy. Generally the won't cover physically damaged items.
Wow, there are a lot of Compustar lovers on this forum. Well I'll be the rotten apple and spoil everything. I HATE Compustar. I dislike installing them, not so much because of how they install but just because I don't like em. CLIFFORD SST FTW!!!!!!!!! Word!
