Attaching dowels to the inside of the box?
What do you all use to attach them? I was going to take small blocks of wood and glue them to the inside of the box somehow and then drill out 3/8" holes that the dowels can go into and be glued into place. Any other ideas?

i'm making a fiberglass enclosure... but I need to know how to attach the dowels to the inside of the box to hold the ring in place.

you can use a bunch of different things. The best thing to use is a 3m adhesive called insta glue...
Apply the adhsive, then spray the activator and 3 seconds later its stuck like super glue...

I would use hot glue.. but the ring is pretty heavy and is going to be mounted sort of up at an angle, so glue alone isn't going to do it without some sort of stabilizer dowels.

umm, insta glue is what you want to use. Its what I just used to hold the ring for our custom kicker solo x sub....it will hold much, much better than hot glue....trust me
There is a reason its 20.00 for a couple ounces...

ok, I just undertshand your confusion....you still need to use the dowels initially. But you can remove them after the top layers have been put on....sorry for the confusion..

Yes, the resin and fiberglass should if you use enough layers (7)..
depends on your application (what type of sub your installing)
The kicker solo x enclosure needs at least 1" think mdf or fiberglass....yea, it took some time

it's a RF he 12". I don't understand how that resin could hold that ring in place just by sticking to the top of the ring though.
