I did not think mine came with a code. Well at least I never saw one or needed to look for it. When I took the stock radio out, I forgot I left a cd in it, plugged it back in about an hour later and it worked perfect. Go figure, but I did not need a code like I did with my civic radio when I disconnected the battery.

With the 03's there is no code. At any rate, the dealer should give it to you free, you will just need to pull the radio out and give them the serial number.

They may ask that you bring it in. Although if you bought it there or live quite a distance they may be able to work with you.

I don't know about mitsu, but for my honda back in the day (2000) it cost me $90. And then for my S2000 another $90. and you will have to take your car in.

some mitsu radios require a code (like my 99 diamante) but the Evo's radio doesn't, i've unplugged it many times.
