Nothing wrong with drilling a new hole in the firewall, use a new grommet.
In a bass only application, it doesnt make any difference to separate power from signal.
You can have the battery hooked up during install, but dont install the new fuse untill all of you connections are complete. Your ground M U S T be on a PAINT FREE metal surface, and i dont mean sheetmetal. Check for gas tanks before screwing anything down.
