Sub mounting options (IX)

Hi guys, tried a search with not much luck.

Any ideas how to mount a sub in the boot of the IX with a rear strut bar?

Not interested in fiber glass inserts etc....

Thanks!

custom box with like some 10" subs. You can make it deep though. Angle the woofer so the box is shorter, it will look pretty hot. I know you can think of something, post pics to help other people after your done.

If you don't mind messing up the strut bar, make a box with the bar passing through it. You could fiberglass the bar into the box, or if you don't want to mess up the bar, build a tunnel through the box, or fiberglass a thick-walled PVC pipe into the box to use as a tunnel. Or you could build in a notch in the box for the strut bar. Or if you know how to build the box strong enough and brace the inside enough, you could make a custom strut bar that mounts to either side of the box and uses the box as a structural part of the strut bar. Just be creative =)

FWIW I ran into a problem the same as you... I am in the process of making a resolve to this situation of sub box fitting issues. If you would like to pm me next week I should have it available for viewing... Hang in there I have the problem solved!! Next week...
