2-din mounting bracket question
Just curious where did everyone one get theres? are you guys using your stock mounting brackets for your 2-din's?

Double din Convesions are sol by orbital, they go for like 275 i believe.

ive bought the double din conversion. it is only the actual cover of where the 2-din is place. It does not come with mounting brackets.

its held on for now like this. This is the stock bracket for the stock headunit. So far, ive been to bestbuy, and a couple of local audio dealers. Non have any brackets that are universal. I found that difficult to comprehend.

pm phil from 201motorsports. thats where i got it from. he gets it from rich @ orbital. Phil at 201 is a really nice guy and extremely helpful will all my questions. Pm him asap, i know there werent that many metallics made. Thanks again phil ill make a thread soon when i get all of my stuff.

haha, thanks for the suggestion, but i've been talking to phil for a few weeks now...i've already ordered my full metallic set. i was going to say that maybe the brackets should have came with your HU...but now im not so sure.

Finally gotten around to working on the orbital kit that i purchased, and started to get an alpine 2-din unit in, the side mounting brackets are the toughest, i tried using the stock brackets, but the holes do not line up with what's on unit side.
Looks liked i have to drill holes to make it align correctly.
I guess that's the most frustrating thing bout it, it would have been nice if the kit includes some type of universal brackets for the 2-din units.

The holes on the alpine doesn't line up liked what on this unit .

used stock brackets for my Pioneer Z1...just had to drill new holes in the dash for the placement of it.
hope i helped...
