Installing iPod module, had a question...

I have to run a ground a 12v power source for the module, so I was wondering where I would have access to this behind the headunit ? I'm not worried about the ground, I'm thinking about hooking it up to the headunit's support bracket. but what about power?

the radio has both a constant +12 and a switched +12. You should be fine tapping into those as long as you aren't pulling too many amps which your ipod module shouldn't. You could also go down a lil more and go to the cigarette lighter if you want to, but that requires removing a few more interior pieces.

You will also fine some nice 10mm bolts you can use for a ground back there as well.

Use a wiring harness, it makes everything soooo much easier. You can get them at BestBuy/CircuitCity

A wiring harness for a iPod adapter? I've never heard of doing that. How would htat work?

Yeah, can anyone confirm what colors the +12 and switched +12 lines are?

Well yeah I do have that as I have the CDA-9835 currently in the car. it's about to be replaced by the Eclipse CD7000.

Do I tap into the Metra harness? If so, what color wire do I tap for the +12 connection?

Is that on the factory harnesS? On my metra harness there are only 4 wires, and only illumintaion isn't being used. Should this red and yellow wire be on the factory harness?

And should i just splice into it? I assume i disconnect the batter right?

Thanks.
