Car makes weird noises after alarm and cd player installed....
Has this ever happened to anyone? I went in and got a 2 way alarm and pioneer cd player installed about a month ago, ever since then my car makes like a squeak noise when I hit a bump/hole or anything. It sounds like it is coming from my dash. I went back into the place and they pulled it apart and couldnt see anything...yet it continues to do it. Has anyone heard of this? Or is this my sheer luck?

Squeak like 2 plastic pieces rubbing against one another, or an electrical type squeak?

Its a squeak like metal being scratched, a really really high pitch squeak, sounds kind of like a mouse sound, lol, thats the only way I can really explain it.

Like the previous reply, is this a physical sound or electrical? Does it come through the speakers? If so, it might be ground hum. Does the hum occur when you press on the accelerator?

See thats exactly what I was thinking, that maybe when they pulled my dash to do the work, they broke a clip or something and its squeaking. I had them pull it again and they couldnt find anything...

Only thing I can think of off hand is:
Pull out the stereo, on either side you will see two threaded bolts coming into the area the stereo sits from either side...kinda hard to desribe. |-> stereo <-|
Check to make sure the rubber ends are installed over the tops of them.

meh.. that inevitably happens when you tear apart a dash and put it back together.. just turn up the tunes and the sound will go away

Haha, god I know, my system does a good job at that, but when I have it down, thats all I hear! I am just a freak when it comes it stupid noises like that. I pulled out my cd player last night, played around with it a little bit, and put it back in, but it still makes the noise. I think its coming from like the top part of my dash, right above my steering wheel....
