speakers pop when car turns off

My speakers does a pop when the car shuts off. I have an alpine headunit going to a kicker amp powering the jl component speakers (stinger cap). After listening to the stereo, when I turn off the car and everything shuts off, the speakers does a pop sound. I can't figure it out. does anybody know of this problem and can help me fix it? thanks

1. check all of your grounding points. make sure you're making good grounds.
2. check to make sure your power wire/remote turn on lead isn't run right next to your RCA. if they are, move them as far apart from each other as possible.

Well, my power wire and remote wire is on opposite side of the amp from the rca wires so, i guess I should check my ground wires. Can I run my ground wire from the amp to the neg part of my cap? I have my cap neg and amp neg wires going to the same place.

Any ideas?

What he was saying is to make sure that the power and remote wires are run on different sides of the car. For example run the rca's down the passenger side and the power down the driver side. I think it is better to have a seperate ground for the amp, however, it will work either way. You need to check your main ground, where the cap is, and make sure that there is no paint or other substance blocking the contact. It sounds like a grounding problem for sure.

Check your grounds.
Make sure you are grounded to bare metal.
Your cap and amp should be grounded to different locations. Some caps have distrobution blocks for both power and ground, it is still good practice to ground them seperate.

Yup yup, sounds like a bad ground. Make sure your ground is good like these guys said and make sure that your wires arent touching, like the RCA's. Ive heard the shut off noises come from two things, cheap amps, which you dont have and bad grounding/wiring.

Yeah make sure theres no power or remote near ur rca cables. They feed over. If ur power and ground are too close together they have a humming sound.

I see what ya'll saying. My power wire is going down the driver side, but my remote wire is running down the passenger side along with the rca's. I'll move the remote wire to the opposite side of the rca's when I have time. My ground might be the problem i guess. I just hooked it up anywhere to get it turned on. I'll go back and redo it to a better ground. thanks. If I have anymore problems, i'll come back.

Don't ground the amp directly to the cap! They can ground at the same spot on the car but not on the cap itself.

If you can't get the turn off pop to go away. You can add a small cap in line with the remot wire. This will keep the amp on longer than the headunit (about a second) Eliminating the pop. Or there is a part mede by stiger to do this as well. Check www.extremeaudio.biz
