Got an Evo or Lancer Factory Alarm?
My searches have turned up various mentions of the Evo alarm as a factory option or accessory. However, as far as I can tell no one has actually reported having the OEM alarm.
I like keeping my cars bone stock. I am interested in a plug and play system with virtually no cut wires or drilled holes. I don't want to hire some bonehead at the local custom shop to hack up my interior or wiring. I had the factory alarm on my Miata, where I could just plug it in with a mininum of damage or disruption. That's what I'd like for my Evo IX. I know there are a ton of aftermarket alarms out there, but that's not what I'm asking about here.
With all that said ... here are my questions for anyone who does have an OEM / factory alarm installed in his Evo: - Is it the same alarm as for a regular Lancer?
- Do you have a price or part number?
- Is it plug and play?
- Any other thoughts?
Also, does anyone have a Crutchfield alarm, and did it come with a Lancer, plug and play wiring harness?
Thanks!

I'd like to know this as well. I always try to use the OEM alarm for the same reason you list and am normally able to modify it to enable adding a nice motion and microwave sensor while retaining the OEM alarm functionality. Hopefully someone knows something and can fill us in.

Seems as though the Evo doesnt have a factory alarm. I wasnt able to find an factory addon one either. That is what I came up with from doing searches on google. Maybe someone else can chime in. Ill ask my buddy who works at mitsu parts later today.

I have heard people mention an Evo factory alarm, but I fear that it may not exist, as the last two posters say. I do believe, however, that there is a Lancer factory alarm. I have to believe that a lot of the wiring is the same, and that it might therefore plug and play into the Evo wiring harness. Does anyone know? Thanks!

A lot of people say that the wiring for the Evo is almsot identical to the lancer. As far as the in-cabin wiring goes it all looks pretty much the same.

The people that posted they have alarms may just have been talking about the keyless entry.

Thanks, all. Hard to believe no one knows whether the Lancer alarm actually plugs into the Evo. Hmmm.

I have been looking into this for a while. I talked to my Salesperson at the local dealership and was informed that there is no such thing as an optional Mitsu Evolution Alarm system. The only option he offered me was LoJack which is installed by LoJack technicians at the dealership.

Thanks. I think someone, and it might (might) be me, needs to just go buy the byotch (i.e., the Lancer factory alarm) and see if it plugs in. Amazing that we're four model years into the U.S. Evo and no one seems to have tried it yet.

I agree. Any idea how much the security attachment is for the factory keyless?

I found them on-line once but I can't recall if it had a price. I also wrote one of the big OEM vendors but they ignored me. Any vendors out there? I need to do more research.
