Pioneer 5700DVD

Just bought 2006 Evo MR and wanted to upgrade stereo so i could control my ipod. i only found a few that have the interface which would allow me to control my ipod with the touch screen and not have to mess with the ipod itself.

crutchfield told me that the pioneer 5700 that i was interested in would not allow my factory sub to work and i would have to rewire all the other speakers to bypass the factory amp... i think the factory system is fine for me, so i wasn't really interested in changing speakers and amps and stuff.

is this true? i'm not savy in audio...i wanted to do this myself though, but i didn't think it would be that hard to simply switch out radios...

should i just have the professionals do it???? thanks.

I wasn't aware that the MR's had a factory Sub? You might want to look into that. I believe only the SSL Packages have a factory Sub...

No, MR's don't have the Infinity system with factory sub so you should be fine.

swapping HU is one of easiest you can do on evo. Seriously, it won't take more than minute to pull HU out. Look into alpine units also, you can control ipod from HU on some of models that support it.
