Because:
1. You drive a world-class performance car. Your attention should be focused on the road.
2. You got rid of your gauges that actually did something for the car, itself, and you as a driver, and replaced them with a needlessly complex entertainment system.
3. You loaded more weight into the car, disarranged the vehicle for the sake of the install, when a similar objective could have been accomplished with a portable device.

not everyone is 100% performance oriented. I see nothing wrong with having some "cool" value to the car. I'm lookin into one of those canadian carPCs. Not quite as elaborate but similar.

Looking good.
How long does it take to boot up and shutting down with that setup?
Isn't there some kind of memory program that act as sleep mode, so you don't have to shut down and start up?

1. Its touch screen with large buttons, my eyes aren't off the road while changing music for any longer than yours are when changing your music on your stock sytem. It's not like I'm playing games and watching movies while driving down main street.
2. New gauges are on their way here. Ordered some Defi Blue Racers to take the place of the stock gauges.
3. A portable device doesn't come close to the versatility of this system. And as far as weight goes, I can shed weight in other places to make up for the system, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Besides, I'm not planning on racing this professionally.

I'm in NW Florida. I can answer any questions via PMs if you want to get technical about the install. Be glad to help.

I've got boot up shed down to about 20 seconds and shut-down down to about 10 seconds, all with some WinXP registry tweaks.
You can use sleep mode. However, I have the inverter switch mounted up front so that I can turn power off to the whole system w/ the flip of the switch to terminate any power draw while the car is off.

The hks camp sucks I had it on my silvila. What you could do it hook up a sweet wideband setup like zeithronix and run that. Could see logs as you run. Only thing I would change is use and apple. My macbookpro boots in like 5 secs, oh yeah. just playing looks good man

overall its a nice idea but not for an evo... to me the evo is a performance car and i'd be more concerned with reducing weight rather than adding it and also adding performance related parts rather than entertainment gadgets
