I just noticed after my last build using the Forged Wiseco 1400 HD pistons with forged Howard rods mine has started consuming oil rather quickly. I see 0 smoke, even had someone else drive my car and stood as they went WOT and I don't see even a puff. My evo must just be thirsty so I'm swapping to a heavier weight oil to see how it does. I'm going 1 quart per 1000 miles right now.

Being at the track about ten times revving at 9000rpm in the first 1000 miles after the tune oil change the car consumed probably around 0.3 qt oil but we found a small oil leak from the mivec feed line because I still have the rubber gasket. I think my consumption would be even less...
If this is my average oil consumption I am looking at 1 qt every 3000 miles as an estimate.
I am using valvoline vr1 but I want to try brad Penn too.
