Building my motor...need help and suggestions
I currently own a 03 Evo 8. Has about 75k on the clock. Only mods are a boost controller and TBE. I have a AMS 35R kit on the way and have about 5g to play with on building my motor. Can someone send me in the right path as in how to spend this 5g wisely on makin my motor strong. Im new to the 4g63. Thanks

Building a 2.0 4G63 is textbook, with a built bottom end, bigger valves and cams, you can reliably make over 500whp with the proper engine mangement and fuel mods. you need to decide how much power you wanna make and what you want to do with the car to decide on the right engine parts.
If I built another motor, I would build a 4G64 block with the K1 crank or a MagnusMotorsports crank to make it a 2.2 liter motor. its a nice compromise because it will spool the turbo a little better and have more power under the curve, yet still have the ability to rev to 9,000 safely.

I went with the AMS 2.0 shortblock oliver TT/Ross combo. I then had my head checked and assembled the rest myself with all new oem componets. With the exception of ARP head studs.

You don't have much mods, why would you want to tear apart a perfectly good running engine?

save it for now, I've got 95k on mine, ams 35r kit has been on the car for .. almost 60,000 miles. Still stock block, no wierdness. I am eventually going to probably get a buscher stage 3 2.0, just to not have to mess with it.

I have a few shortblocks to chose from depending on the power you want to make and if you wanna stay with a 2.0. If you are interested in discussing some options please PM me.
