lifter noise??

i hit something in the road one day and busted the oil cooler. i didnt think i had hit it hard enough to bust anything so as soon as i saw the oil light come on i shut it off. took the broken cooler and one of the lines off. the line that was still on there i looped to the other side where the other line was. it ran fine half way home then it stated loosing power, i got off the interstate the oil light poped on and it shut off. i checked the oil and everything else and the oil was full and nuthing was leaking. when i started the car back up it had a ratling noise from the top end. i got it back to my shop and checked everything. oh yea, it didnt run out of oil completely. i did add oil but it was 3 qts. after everything i checked and did. it sounds like a lifter either has air in it or bled out. please help to figure out what this noise is. the noise has goten quiter since this has started, it seemed like the more i started it and let it run the less noise. but now it wont get ne quieter. today while leting it idle the oil light came on but its full of oil. it starts making the noise at 2000 to 2500 rpms. i dont wana rev it over that

man things like that always scare me.
so its full of oil and the light still comes on?

None of the lines were damaged in the fact that they could be kinked bent or crushed to the point where it is being starved of oil?

HOW TO: Bleed Your Lifters

i'd do it for kicks

yea its full of oil most definately. the lines werent damaged at all. i had them both off in my hands and visually inspected them. at idle its fine but above 200 rpms its rattles up top. i was hoping the lifters if they had air in them or were dry would pump up or something. the first few times i started it up the noise quieted down some but now its still there some. i guess i will have to pull it apart and bleed them, i dont really want to lol. i put another oil cooler on there today to see if something was kinked or restricted and it didnt change nething. same noise
