evo 9 boost issue
Hey,
so my buddy is having problems with his evo9. I have a sti so this is kinda diff for me but i need some advice on what to check or do. His car is having a bad boost issue. Its boosting like 25lbs or so. His mods are uicp, licp, intake, tbe. I check all his boost tubes and vaccum lines and they are all hooked up. i then checked his egr valve and they are all plugged in so then i went to his egr solenoid and one of the lines had broken off. would that be the reason why its boosting all sorts of funny? just wondering if thats the problem, which i know it has something to do with it but what else could it be if thats not it? thanks guys.....

If one of the nipples broke off one of the solenoids then yes that is a boost leak...

You both need to do a boost leak test. That is likely the cause of ebramisag's issues. As for bloop's issues, why is 25 psi all sorts of funny? Sure it isn't stock, but he isn't stock. A 9 can handle the boost, and if he's been tuned he's fine. I'm guessing you are asking because you expect to see lower boost?

build a boost leak tester. its easy, and about $10-15 or less.

ya the solenoid that has the 3 lines go to it had to be replaced. put a brand new one in there and nowits perfect...
but then took it to ams and had them put in a aem wideband/true boost and now everything is l messed up. killed a battery, now lights work, car dies.....and paided 4 hours of labor and the car had to be towed home....
