you shoud also look into how diesels are doing compound turbo charging. you can get some HUGE airflow figures that way.

How can you blame them? Subaru is the best, everyone knows that.

Twincharging... OMG I can't believe this has come up again. It has been tried before, by an engineer with basically an open checkbook, and he bailed on the project. Give it up.
There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch. You simply cannot put a gigantor turbo on a small displacement engine and get huge topend power AND quick spoolup.

I wouldn't quite though that far as to tell him to give it up...just because the previous guy was an engineer. I'm one too and went to school with some real idiots. I will simply say keep in mind how air flow requirements, both in and out, of the turbo's, the engine and the exhaust system when you design it.

I am editing the original post to take out the RIPP mods supercharger idea since I have already mentally eliminated that idea. I am focusing on the rear mount turbo idea. Lets continue discussing that one since it seems more realistic. OK?

I've seen twin charged AW11 and sw20's...but what is that?^^^
so evotech...what size turbo are you planning to tuck rear-mount? I think it would be better to have a turbo near factory location and then one in a similar location to wear AMS has theirs...saves lots of exhaust energy and spool up time.

Let me know when you do this so I can unbolt the turbo from under your car and run away with it!

Yes, It can be done and folks are even doing it on small displacement diesels.
Please note how little room is between the motor and the firewall. We would also need to be a bit creative with routing of everything but it's doable.

I have been looking into this and been digging into my memory, along with some googling today.
I had a Alfa Romeo 155 2.0 turbo Q4. When i got it i was thinking like, hey this is the same engine & drivetrain as the Lancia Delta Integrale. The Lancia Delta Integrale had a supercgarged & turbocharged engine in the WRC could this be done for the street. Short answer No.... street and WRC in this case are as far apart as the first beetle and a EVO VIII lol.
I was searching the forum for some answers on completely different issues and stumbled on this topic and that triggered the memory of the ideas i had with my Alfa. I already pm'd Evotech to point him to the new Volkswagen Twincharger wich has came on sale recently. I read about it a few weeks back and it popped up in my mind reading through this topic. After giving it some more thought i remembered more of my own plans i had then and googled on it. What i had in mind way back then was simply using some Eaton compressor put that in place of the turbocharger, fabricate some tubing to replace the turbocharger and using a old Porsche turbosystem with the bypass valve. Well it was all only in my mind back then, but with more advanced tech of today and programmable ECU's etc.etc. the idea aint that stupid anymore.
For the record i'm not planning on doing something like this, but just wanted to share what i had in mind once.
