Tuning conservatively on meth

I was hoping to get a response from some of the guys that have tuned for alky. I have an SMC V2 kit Ive had laying around. Assembled everything hooked it up to 12VDC and ran some water though it. Everything works great I want to know if my ecu can be flashed with a conservative meth tune? Meaning that I could run 91 octane as usual and not damage the engine, or run 50/50 meth and water. I understand timing and fuel trim would not be maximized while on alky. However Im not looking to eek out every little bit of HP rather a cooler denser intake charge with less overall chance of detonation. Id be more than happy with a gain of 15ftlbs increase over current setup. Also when is alky doing the "most" on the initial boost spike or @ higher piston speeds ie 7,000 RPM?

Drives: EVO METH MACHINE

Run a 50/50 mix
Run boost @ 22psi
work your a/f for cali with meth to 11.3/.4 across board for a conservative tune with the meth.

As far as when it kicks in...mine hits hard...4000...all the way to red.

To get the 15lbs you're going to have to up your boost about 1 -2 psi(not sure what you're running now. Add some timing...conservative...few points up, while maintaining the low 11 a/f ratio.

What kit do you plan on using?

**make sure you maintain "0" knock across board**

Umm, you can run 100% meth all day long with a good tune and that will give you good amount of power depending on what boost you want to be tuned for.

I would look into a good failsafe and consider running maftpro, other than that, evoryder made points from having a meth kit...

I know of people turning the boost up on meth to 29+lbs and tapers about 23-24 at redline...

do you have any type of wideband ? zeitronix? aem?

It all depends on you
I don't think he can run 29lbs with 91Oct, even with 100%meth(which i run on a daily basis)...that might be pushing the envelope. He also said he doesn't want to do anything too extremem. I hope he's tuning with a Wideband...

With a conservative flash and boost...failsafe would be nice, however, he wont blow his motor if his meth kit fails. If he runs 21-29psi with killer timing and aggressive A/f...he better have a failsafe or Jesus in his passenger side, and i'm not talking Jesus from South Sandiego lol

Nope no wideband yet that why I was going to pay to have the map made.

Yeah actually that Jesus stole the stereo out of this same car along with a nice set of snap on tools.

Also the SMC kit has a spray nozzle that is screwed into the inside of the intake pipe when I drilled the hole for install I thought man I would hate to have that thing unthread under WOT anybody make a lanyard or try thread locker?
I get the idea that even though some guys have failsafes in place they dont really trust them when the boost gets really high.

Thread locker? Nah...I just use teflon tape and a good amount of torque. i check everytime I check my oil level. I keep the wrench in my glove box lol

Check that sound good. I guess Ill keep the Jestr flash I have then which runs awesome and start my spray @ 4k water and a few bottles of Heet. Go to Qaulcom run with and without the water/met inj see how it effects my ET's and Evoscan Logs.

See if jestr can email you a Meth flash, however, to get the true benefits of meth mentioned above. You should get a custom tune or invest in a wideband.
