Stock Injector Resistance...

Anyone know offhand what the resistance on the stock 550s are? I'm sittin here goin through the AEM injector wizard and its showing 3 ohms for the stock injectors... If thats true then whats the big huff about the driver box to run low impedence aftermarket injectors? I'm FIC 850s that are rated at 2 ohms...When I get home i'll check it with a multimeter but I wanted to see if anyone knew already?

If the injectors are rated at 2 ohms you could have as much as a 7.2 amp load per injector on the driver box. You may want to make sure it can handle that load. The way to calculate this load is to use ohms law.

E / R = I

E = voltage- - - - - - 14.4v
R = resistance- - - - 2 ohms
I = current- - - - - - - 7.2 amps

for example

14.4 / 2 = 7.2 amps- - - - with your 850cc
14.4 / 3 = 4.8 amps- - - - with stock 550cc

That's a big difference!

Also beware most DVM's do not accurately measure resistance accurately below 8-10 ohms.

Drives: no more Evo

The Mitsubishi rpair manual says the resistance should be 2-3 ohms.
