Ecuteck / Emissions Help ! ! !

My friend have an Evo 8 , when his check engine light comes on he normally takes it to Autozone so they can use the data scanner . They're able to read the ecu with no problems. However over the weekend he went to get his emmisions done comes to find out that they were having a hard time reading the ecu obd II it wouldn't scann at all . has anyone experience this ? Just a heads up for those who got their car Flashed / Tuned / Ecuteked. i would image all he have to do get the stock map back right and everything should be ok right ? is he the first to experience this ? ? ?

Ecutek software started locking ECU's a few years ago. Search member Malibu Jack or ECU Unlocker for a solution.
