ECUTek should be detectable and here is why:
When mitsubishi programmed the computer there is a "checksum" As you modify tables in the ECUtek map, the checksum recalculates and changes as well. It is as easy as verifying the mitsubishi checksum then looking at your ecu's. If they are different then it was tampered.
Now this is assuming the Mitsu "Tech" does know how to retrive this information or knows what it means, or has the equipment to do so.

We offer mail in reflashes back to a stock checksum map if you are a TTP Reflashed customer. We will then reflash you back to your last Ecutek tune when you get your car back. No worries.

So the dealer can't detect changes in boost levels?

The ECU will be stock as it came from the factory at that point.

ok so the checksum will be equal and it will be a stock map as if it were to come from the dealer, but will there be traces left if they look hard enough? is there a timestamp of when the computer was last flashed? For example: A 2004 evo that has been reflashed from its tune to the stock mapping in 2006 for warranty work would show the amount of times its been flashed and the date of the last one?

thanks, is this just because it is an ecutek flash or just because it is how you guys do it or can any flash be resorted back to totally undetectable by the dealer

A stock ECU image can be uploaded to your ECU.

Ecutek installs a licsense onto the ecu and locks the ecu so that no one except a ecutek dealer can access the ecu to flash it
There is no way to flash it back to stock after it has been ecutek flashed

With an Ecutek reflashed ECU, the ECU ID type is changed to something invalid. An invalid ID type that isn't recognized by the factory diagnostic/flashing tool. And if the tool doesn't recognize it, it wont handshake with it, and it wont be able to reflash on top of it.

Something like that - no hand shaking
Still its a great product and people should not place such great concerns on if the dealer can find the flash as most of the dealers seem to have a hard time to find the spark plugs IMHO

Will the dealer be able to tell that the ECU is not "shaking hands" with the factory diagnostics tool? I would hate to go in for some petty warranty related issue and have my car black flagged because my ECU doesn't get along with the diagnotics scanner.

So when i get a ecutek flash/reflash the factory diagnostic tools wont be able to decipher the codes/ diagnostic information that my vehicle's ecu has saved? or are you just saying that the factory diagnostic wont be able to reflash a map or curve??
