Make sure you are aware of the full process of benching your ecu. The process is no different when flashing tephramod.

Anyone know the correct way to flash a normal Rom (non-TMod) back to the ECU? Im in need of the car right now, so I tried flashing over the TMod with the ECU in the car and it Errors Out. So I removed the ECU, benched it with an old ROM that I know worked in Recovery Mode and it completes successfully. Now after putting the ECU back in the car and removing the Recovery Mode to flash the same ROM back it Errors Out Immediately. What Gives?

Tephra I think I need that 2013 ROM
Bench writing my pre - V2 Tune back to the ecu as per the bench flashing guide worked for me. What error are you getting during and / or after bench flashing your prior tune?

Before the second flash with Recovery Mode deselected, did you cycle the bench power supply OFF then back ON again?

Nope, and I had just thought of it after reading the Bench Flash Guide from evoscan.com stating to that. Im gonna go try this write now, hope this works, really don't like not being able to drive the car.

disconnect the power for 30 seconds after bench flash, then flash it with recovery mode un-selected.

Well I must say thanks guys. It's working now, I'm not sure why I forgot that part of the process. I feel like I just took a huge crash course on bench flashing with all the stuff I've done to try to get this to work. Thanks again.

I disabled the recovery mode in ECUFLash and hit "Write to ECU"...it completed successfully. Turned ignition to off, and the immediately went to turn the car on...no fans running this time and so I turned it over and IT STARTED right away.

Logged a bit while it idled, nothing unusual. Start creeping forward in my neighborhood and car starts to sputter and idle weird. I try to get going a little bit more and as soon as I got over 2200 rpms the engine tries to stall out. Now the engine is idling at 2k rpms and then a SES Light. I shut the engine off and pull the DTC, P0068. I then did the drive over again after clearing the code. Idle back to normal then SES, P061A. Cleared code after driving the 25 ft back got my garage and the restarted the car and back to idling fine. Im gonna let it sit until the 2011 USDM 56890213 Rom is updated.

Tephra I emailed you about all this too, can I get that USDM 2013 rom you spoke of? My car is a DD so the least amount of down time the better. Cheers!
I had the same issue when I flashed the 56890213 rom. Every time I started the car it would idle rough. It would idle fine and at every 1 second interval the IPW would spike and AFR's would go rich.

I'm grateful that we have Tephra and others like him around that tinker with all disassembly and low-level assembly routines. I couldn't imagine going back to that with high-level programming I do now. Let me know if you need me to log anything for testing.

tephra, I've emailed you in the past when you asked for someone to test v2 but for whatever reason I must have not been sending to your correct email address. Getting a working 2011 MR rom would be great for the upcoming NARRA season. I'm at Hiboost2 at gmail.com if there is a rom version that needs testing.

I spoke with Rich and tephra regarding this and the ROM address spacing and memory addresses do not conflict so RAX should 100% work including the logging. I've been working through a few issues on my car so I haven't gotten to test the IAT patch yet.

I have confirmed testing the Baro Boost Comp patch 100% without issues on the 59580004 based ROM.

The plan is to test the IAT correction patch next and I suppose I can test the fast logging but it technically isn't needed with tephra's Live Tuner software.

Nice! The baro and iat bits were my main concern. The fast logging would be nice too, but seems redundant with v2?
