Anyone ever notice ? ? ?

After tweeking and reflasing a rom a few times that the car kind of starts running like poo. So you re-map over a fresh stock rom with your tuned tables and instantly everything is all better again.

Just curious if anyone else has ever noticed this.

I'll have to keep this in mind. When you re-mapped the stock map did you start the car and let if run for a little while or just flashed the tuned map over it?

I just copied over my tuned tables into the stock rom and then flashed my car.

I believe that after multiple flashes of the same rom that things are written, re-written, and so on. This jumbles up the language a little and things don't run as smoothly. It is almost like doing this is a defrag of the system if you will.

I dunno. Could be placebo too.

I have encountered this on a couple occasions now, and have done the same as u, started off w/ a completely fresh rom, and copied everything over again. I have only noticed this w/ tephra roms, tho... (v.7) doubt it has anything to do w/ tephra's rom, just an observation...
I was flashing my car quite often, on the same rom, just making adjustments, and by the time I got her where I wanted her, she got *squirrely* (boost curve started getting wacky).
I thought I was trippin, and didnt post it up...

have u tried just unplugging the power to the ecu to see if that fixes it. on e8 ecuflash doesnt wipe the whole ram so maybe that causes corruption.

have u noticed it on DMA roms??

Resetting the ECU on an 8 is common practice any time changes are made. It seems like it just needs a complete re-write every once in a while.

The fastest way to do the ECU reset is to disconnect the battery then attempt to start the car, then reconnect the battery.....done.

When you turn the ignition key it saps the entire car's stored energy.
