here are my maps, i run 23 psi tapering down to 22. tbe,intercooler piping, intake,kelford 272 s..
i have nearly zero knock with this on 93 let me know what improvements need to be made
only 5* at 6k is a little conservative, im sure it will take much more then that. you want to stretch the peak boost timing area out then start to ramp it at 6k+
just glancing at your maps tho you're doing good. fuel trims are prob good for mid trim based on what i see with your fuel map. like Freddie said post a full 3rd gear pull for us starting at 2500rpm to like 7500.
i havent messed with the timing or really bothered with the knock at shifts because i dont believe it to be real knock.
isnt there 3rd gear in that log?
explain the log you gave us. is that going through the gears? 1 2 3 etc? just go do another 3rd gear pull.. i can help you tweak some more power out of it if you like.
First and foremost I would like to say I have never tuned my car and I am still learning and getting my car ready for the tuning process. With that said I have some questions:
First I noticed a few times when you were idling and a time or two when you let off the throttle your AFR was 18-21. Isn't this too lean?? Or is this just the ecu catching up to the sudden change in throttle position?? What is too lean for our cars?? I would worry if I saw 21 in my logs... Was this only during shifts?? Finally should you even worry about those momentary lean conditions??
I also compared your timing map to my stock timing map and didn't notice any drastic differences... Was this intentional or is it more of a function of how much boost you are running??
Finally to satisfy my own curiosity are you using a MBC or ECU controlled boost? I can't seem to make up my mind on which one to use...
Thanks in advance for bearing with my noob questions!!
well im new to tuning evos.as far as the afr during off throttle and idle i leaned it out more for fuel economy. but some of the fluctuations are due to the cams. they make things bounce around a bit while the computer constantly tries to stabilize things.
im not too worried about it but i am still in the process of tuning this car.
your right my map is not a very aggressive tune but then again i run pump gas and still have a lot of stock parts just more boost so theres only so much your going to be able to do safely. and its really hot here in fl.
and im running a greddy profec b spec 2 for boost control..for now until i decide to try this ecu boost control.which i personally think is a pita.

I'm new to this as well, but I think I can answer your question about the AFR being ~21.
If you get a wideband in your car, and take a log of driving, you will notice that if your car is in gear and you take your foot off the gas(lets say your in 4th gear and your slowing down, then you shift to 3rd give it some gas and then take your foot off again and continue slowing) you will notice that your afr's go to 21-22. So at least as far as I know it's pretty normal.
I also see it going lean like that during a shift, you'll see load drop(sometimes to a negative number) when your shifting and your foot is off the gas.
Maybe somebody with more experience can explain why, as at my current level of understanding I would only really be guessing.
