Evo scan and Profec e-01?

Ive bought the little handheld evoscan unit and i await its delivery. i currently have the profec e-01 laying around doing nothing. It has extensive boost control features (and timing/fuel which im not using) which I am not sure if the ecuflash/evoscan will replicate. should I just use the ecu to control the boost pressures i set? should I use the profec? where do I tap in for the RPM signal? If I install the profec, what pressure can I set within the stock map? I've heard the stock ecu lets the boost rush in and tapers off quite a bit...if I set a constant boost pressure with the controller what will happen? do I need to have it taper off or is it wiser to wait for the evoscan to edit the maps accordingly?

thanks

Sell the profec and control boost using the ECU, map sensor, and GM solenoid.
