JOT Virtual Dyno Room max rpm Question

How is anyone able to enter VDR rpms over 79XX rpms?

Is there a way to get the ECU to output over 79XX rpms to evoscan?

It will only give you the max RPM value in the log iirc.

I gather that. Is there a way to keep the ECU from clipping this value at 79XX?

Single Byte RPM maxes out at 7969 (31.25x255=7968.75)

Two Byte RPM will allow you to log much higher. (254,004 rpms max)

Thanks. Looked it over. 96531706 and 0706 are not listed. Are they the same MUT addresses as the 96530006? I checked my MUT tables and they were a little different. I would think that in the V7 download they should be correct out of the box but my logged values are into the 6 figures so they are way too high to be rpm.

Yep, same addresses. But the eval for the formula is different for 2-byte RPM. It is (256A+B)*1000/256.

I don't use EvoScan, so I'm not sure of the correct forumla for that, but I think it already has it setup.

I want to do some comparisons with the VDR, but we rev much higher than the clipped value. Should be able to have some test data back shortly.

Those roms are fabricated for the various tephra roms, based on teh 96530006 rom. Anything that works in it should work in the modified tephra roms. V7t6 still had 2-byte rpm enabled by default, so just try and log it and see if it comes up. I've logged my car to 82xx so I can verify that it works!

I can verify that as well and I don't even have "Factory ECU Expert" in my signature...

Most of the track and autox guys (that need the extra gearing higher RPM allows), I've logged 2byte RPM on for over a year now, maybe 2 now? It's all a blur at this point...

Its always just a matter of changing the MUT table to whatever you currently have your EvoScan xml set to.

I inquired about this to Tephra back when I was converting to V7 as I wanted to log 2-byte rpm and load. He feels that 2-byte load and rpm are no longer needed and therefore not included. It appears that the old MUT address for 2-byte RPM are now used for 2-byte airflow.

96530006 2-byte info:
2byte load
MUT 00 = 898A
MUT 01 = 898B

2byte RPM
MUT 02 = 8962
MUT 03 = 8963

2byte AirFlow
MUT 04 = 89E2
MUT 05 = 89E3

MUT 3D TABLE ADDRESS = 36200

Preconfigured V7 MUT Requests:
MUT00+MUT01 = 2byte airflow (ie MrFreds mod in g/s or lb/min)
MUT02+MUT03 = 2byte airflow (ie MAFHz)
MUT40 = 1byte gear
MUT41 = 1byte load
MUT42+MUT43 = 2byte SPEED/RPM ratio (to get your gear ratios correct - if you need to)

You don't have a 144mph stock ECU powered Evo in your signature either ...

Anywho, got the rpm running in 2 byte mode. I am surprised the correct MUT table was not set up for the rom in the first place.

What addresses and values did you use for the MUT table to log 2-byte w/ V7?
