Differences in Peripherys v7

I was looking at the periphery bits and comparing my new V7 96530706 to my older 94170008 and 94170015 roms. I found the following differences and I cannot determine why they would be different. Any other differences I understand. The list below just has be stumped.

94170008/015 .....96530706
F9A bit 1=1...............F9A bit 1=0
bit 2=0 ............................bit 2=1

FDA bit 9=1 ..............FDA bit 9=0
bit 4=0 ............................bit 4=1

FEA bit 13=1 ............FEA bit 13=0
bit 12=1 ..........................bit 12=0
bit 11=1 ..........................bit 11=0
bit 9=1 ............................bit 9=0
bit 7=0 ............................bit 7=1

Can someone please explain why these bits would be different????

30+ veiws and no one has any information ? ? C'mon people, I know someone has to know a little about why there are these differences.

As I mentioned in the other thread, you can almost totally ignore FEA on 9653 variants; except for bit 4, nothing there is used. A quick check of 94170015 shows that FEA is used more extensively there; a very quick check shows bits 15, 14, 11, 7, 5, 4, and 2 appear to be in use. I show bits 9 through 15 set to 1 by default on the stock 94170015 I use here for disassembly.

Also, the version of 9653 I use for disassembly (original 96530006, not a modified edition) has FEA set to 0; no bits set. Not sure why you're seeing bit seven set by default.

I'll see if I can find a few minutes to compare the other peripheries under the hood. I have a feeling we have a lot of people tweaking bits that were found against 88590015, but that don't do anything (or do something different in a subtle way) on a VIII ROM.

Quite a few of those are listed there. Your new rom is EDM, so it does not have much of the code that runs under those enabled bits.

Actually, only a few of the FEA bits were labeled there. Those are the same definitions in v7 so I know the titles....but I don't know what they actually control.

9653 has always been different from the other ROMs. Why we use it on 2G ECU swaps to get rid of the cam/crank sensor codes.

I'm having a strange, semi related issue. I have an 03 and I'm running the 96530006 ROM, Tephra 5.1, and I constantly (every time I start the car) get a P0090 FPR CEL. Oddly enough, I don't get the CEL with my 94170015 ROM.

I noticed the same Tephra v7 FEA bit 7 discrepancy, since its the bit that throws the P0090. I have a stock FPR, stock injectors, and an AMS fuel rail. I can't find any leaks or other reasons the car would throw the P0090 only on the 0006 ROM, especially since logic says the FEA bits are ignored on the 9653 variants.
