Knock
ok so i started with the base evo8 03 timing maps, my car pulled nice but evoscan and mitsulooger said there was knock so i kept tweeking the timing and now my car still has some here and there but it doesnt pull anywhere as hard as it did. Also in some of the cells im very low timing(4-5) and its still reading knock. my aem wideband says im running 10.6-11.6 under boost. so is this real knock?

Yes it's real knock and having the low timing counts is normal for a 2.4l. Keep in mind the your going to have to adjust the air/ fuel until you get it right. But the timing should look close to this one. This tune makes 330whp and tourqe on pump gas. Also souns like you may be getting some lean spool knock you need to mess with that a bit more than likely.

A 3 -> 8 * timing jump in spool/peak load? I'm not sure I would take too close of a look at those maps.
Sounds like you should go re-read the how to tune thread or take your car to a tuner for a base map.
If nothing else, no one here can tell you anything about your tune. We don't know mods, or anything else about your car. If you are knocking on the stock map you probably either have some mods that are affecting things or a problem.

Im not going lean during spool ill hit 10.7 during spool an come back to 11.5ish then tamper back to 10s by redline. i have read the how to tune thread 50+ times and it says that 3 knock is 1 deg of timing. Yet when i pull timing where i had 4-5 knock say 2 deg ill still have 3knock. I have a 2.4l stock internals with a stock 2g eclipse turbo soon to be 16g just need the j pipe.

Why does the low octane map have more timing advance than the high octane map? Im not an expert but shouldnt it be the other way around.

Seriously you need to go tune your own car. You have no idea even what your talking about. He has a 2.4 liter engine with a sohc head and a 9:1 compression ratio and your telling him a stock evo map should work lol.

Please take a minute to look at a stock evo map the upper rpms will be lower but some will be higher. Why does a stock evo map go from 3 to -1 back to 5 at peak load..... Because thats what they felt like worked . Don't expect these guys with evo's to be able to tell you **** about a 2.4l fwd eclipse. My car came as a auto with the same engine as you. It now has evo 272's ross racing pistons eagle rods fp green turbo @22psi on pump gas and its a 5 speed with a rre 2900 clutch.

If you're talking out a quite a bit of timing and the knock isn't going away, it's most likely not really knock. You may have to do some adjusting on the 3 knock multiplier tables. When I switched to an Evo 8 ECU, I had more than 10` less timing (than my 2g dsm EPROM ECU) and it still showed some knock. I adjusted the knock multiplier tables by revving the car in neutral until my knock light (almost) never blinked anymore.

I was actauly pulling to much timing. I got it now so i dont have more than 2 knock and a random 3 knock here an there but not on every wot run. I went back to a evo map that i had messed around with and put a couple cells more an evened out the timing so it was a smoother transition an wallah. I knew something was wrong when i was at 0-5 at peak load and still seeing 12 knock with 10.5-11.5 afr. evo scan says i gained 40hp and 50tq from the old low timing map.

can you add to the fuel to raise the octane, and least you'll know if its real knock or not.

Yes, because we're all ignorant to larger displacement engines and higher compression ratios I wouldn't be so quick to say this entire forum is inept, please keep your tone positive and we'll be much more inclined to help.
